GJS Civil Engineering - Case Study
We recently had GJS Civil Engineering reach out to us requesting the installation of access roads and parking areas for their business. GJS Civil Engineering is a company that plans, designs, and oversees construction and maintenance on a variety of projects, such as buildings and infrastructure.
Their business is located in Oakdale, Poole in Dorset, and they required strong and durable surfaces to be installed to allow their vehicles access and parking space. Our team was tasked with the design and installation of the access road and parking areas for GJS Civil Engineering.
The Challenge
The challenge with any surface that will see a high level of traffic from heavy-duty vehicles is installing a surface that will hold up under the weight and pressure. For access roads and parking areas, the surface needs to be strong and durable so as to last for years under the heavy-duty vehicle usage of a civil engineering company.
We also needed to think about the location of the access road and parking areas, as these needed to be convenient without causing any issues such as obstruction.

Our team successfully installed both an access road and parking areas for the GJS Civil Engineering business, and we utilised tarmac as it is one of the strongest and most durable surfacing materials available. We used a 20mm binder and 10mm surface course to construct these surfaces, as this created a strong and durable surface that is ideal for heavy-duty usage.
Working as a 6-man team, it took us only one day to complete this project for GJS Civil Engineering, ensuring they had a durable access road and parking areas ready to use quickly.
